- The king has a high headdress. They reach a height of 12.5 cm and have an abstract shape. The circular pattern used for the external decoration of the figures resembles barley grains. Hence the name of the series – Barleycorn.
-The bishop, king, queen and pawns have ornaments resembling the ruffled collars popular at that time. The figures are clear even to beginners.
-Each figure is located on a small rounded pedestal of individual shape. Inside the stands of the figures there are weights. The bottom is lined with velvet for a softer sliding on the board.
-Large sizes add weight to the game, and representativeness to the set. This is one of the reasons why barleycorn chess quickly gained popularity in Europe.
-The shape of the chessboard is the author's: elegant, and at the same time massive. The top cover is removable. Inside there are figures in a soft velvet bed with individual cells.
