Tobolsk factory of artistic bone carving products, a small industrial enterprise in Tobolsk, one of the few bone carving factories in the world. Founded in 1929 like a bone-cutting shop at the “Kustar” artel based on folk crafts characteristic of Tobolsk in the 18th & 19th centuries. In 1932–1960 worked as an artel of artistic bone carving "Koopexportsbyt". In 1957 The best works of Tobolsk bone carvers received high praise at the exhibition “Artists of the USSR”. In 1958 won the Big Gold Medal at the Brussels Exhibition. The artel was transformed into a factory in 1960 In 1975 The factory was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor. Mammoth bone, elk antlers, cattle hooves, and rarely – bison horns, roe deer and whale tusks. The factory employs about 50 carvers (2021; including 8 craftsmen). Main products – bracelets, keychains, vases, business card holders, combs, icons, necklaces, board games, miniatures, knives, pendants, earrings, boxes; characteristic features of products – detailed study of ornaments, faces, volumes.
